Josh Davis
College Counsellor
Josh is a College Counsellor at Guidewell Global, supporting students and families pursuing the most selective universities. Over more than a decade in the field, his students have earned places at Ivy League schools and other highly selective institutions; what he cares about most, though, is whether each one has actually arrived at a clear sense of their own goals and an honest, compelling representation of themselves on the page.
Josh has worked with students across the United States and internationally since 2015, and specialises in the particular demands of selective admissions: laying out a coherent four-year plan that integrates academics with activities, helping a student find an essay topic that is genuinely theirs rather than what they think admissions wants to read, and preparing applicants for high-stakes interviews. Families come to him for the combination of strategic insight, individualised guidance and steady belief in what each student is capable of.
His understanding of how selective admissions work is rooted in first-hand experience. As an undergraduate at Yale University he majored in History, served as a Student Recruitment Coordinator in the Admissions Office, and played four years of varsity basketball. That dual background as student-athlete and mentor makes him especially effective for students navigating US college athletic recruitment.
Josh now splits his time between Miami and London and works with students in person and virtually in both. Outside of his counselling work, his attention is firmly on his favourite team: his two young sons.
