SAT dates for UK & international students
Securing your SAT dates early is one of the best ways to stay on track with your US college applications. Follow the 2025-26 and 2026-27 international test schedules below to plan your revision and application timeline.
Upcoming SAT test dates
Please note: These dates apply to students taking the SAT outside the US. Additional dates may be available only to students inside the US.
Remaining 2025–26 dates
Autumn/Fall 2026
Spring 2027
*The College Board has confirmed the 2026–27 test dates but has not yet published registration deadlines. The projected deadlines are based on the standard pattern (registration closes 15 days before the test, late registration 11 days before) and will be confirmed by College Board closer to the time.
Important Booking Reminders:
- All deadlines expire at 11:59 p.m. ET (US time).
- Students who need to borrow a device from College Board must register and request their device at least 30 days before the test date.
- Late registration is available worldwide, but additional fees apply.

Choosing your SAT date
When to register
SAT dates at UK centres (particularly in and around London) can book up months in advance. To ensure you get a seat at your preferred location, we recommend registering the moment you decide on an exam date. The registration deadline is generally 15 days before the SAT test date, with late registration available up to 11 days before.
Planning around early decision
Most US universities have early decision deadlines on 1 November. Taking the SAT by October (with scores released mid–late October) gives you results in time for an ED application. The December test date typically lands just after most ED deadlines.
How to book your SAT test in the UK
You can also watch our video guide, How to Register for the Digital SAT.
1. Create a College Board account
Visit the official College Board site to create your account.
2. Choose your location
Select 'International' and the United Kingdom. Pro tip: Leave the city field blank — College Board lists some Greater London centres (like Croydon) under separate cities, so a country-level search is the only way to see every available UK test centre.
3. Upload your photo
Ensure it meets the strict "headshot" requirements or your registration may be cancelled.
4. Check your tech
The SAT is now digital. Ensure you have the Bluebook™ app downloaded on your testing device at least five days before your SAT exam date. If you need to borrow a device from College Board, register at least 30 days before test day to request one.

Your UK SAT registration questions, answered
Yes. There are numerous test centres across the UK, including in London. However, unlike the US, these centres are limited and fill up quickly.
The UK follows the International SAT calendar. Tests are typically held in March, May, June, August, October, November, and December. See the tables above for specific SAT dates.
Most UK students benefit from planning 2-3 sittings, starting in the autumn of Year 12. The goal is to finish by the summer before Year 13, leaving the autumn term free for the rest of the application (essays, references, finalising shortlist) and final-year schoolwork.
- Autumn Year 12 (October - December): A first attempt to establish a baseline.
- Spring Year 12 (March-June): A second/third sitting after targeted prep.
- Summer before Year 13 (August): A final attempt if needed, well ahead of US Early Decision deadlines (usually 1 November).
