Andra Necula
Mentor
Andra is a Guidewell Global mentor based in London, supporting international students since 2019 across the digital SAT and ACT, Biology, Chemistry, Spanish and general study skills. Before her teaching career she spent three years as a career coach to students and young professionals across more than 50 countries, an experience that now shapes how she supports university-level students through scholarship applications, postgraduate planning, work-life balance, and the longer-term career questions that come with it.
Her teaching draws on the Socratic method. Andra puts the thinking back on the student, posing problems for them to work through and adapting her style to suit how each individual learns. Sessions look different depending on what a student is aiming for, but the underlying goal stays the same: building self-trust, sparking curiosity, and giving students the tools to keep learning long after they finish their formal studies.
Inside the UK team, Andra also serves as Director of Employee Operations. She is the person who matches students and families with the right mentors across the company, whether what they need is a single session to unstick a concept or a multi-year mentorship to refine their study and exam approach. Either way, her starting point is the same: understand what the student is actually trying to achieve.
Andra is a biologist by training and self-confessed language geek, though in practice the ones she actually teaches are English and Spanish (with Romanian available in theory, if anyone ever asks).
